RAWALPINDI: According to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa, Balochistan is in the sharp focus of national leadership, and the army is fully engaged in enabling national and provincial responses in synergy with other institutions of the state.
According to the military’s media wing, the army chief made these remarks on Tuesday at the 7th National Workshop Balochistan at the General Headquarters in Rawalpindi. General Qamar stated that the security forces will remain steadfast and determined to defeat enemies of Baluchistan’s and Pakistan’s peace and prosperity.
“We are a resilient nation that has stood the test of time on its way to achieving peace and stability,” the COAS was quoted as saying by the ISPR.
The army chief’s remarks come a day after Prime Minister Imran Khan stated that he is considering holding talks with angry Baloch in order to prevent hostile elements, including India, from using them to spread chaos.
PM Imran stated that Pakistan’s development is tightly connected with Balochistan, and that Gwadar will be developed at all costs.
