Chaman-Spin Boldak Gate Reopens After Pakistan, Afghanistan Reach Agreement

The Chaman-Spin Boldak gate reopened for transportation on Tuesday after Afghan and Pakistani authorities reached an agreement.The border has been reopened to pedestrians and trade activities, according to details.Pakistan’s Ambassador to Afghanistan, Mansoor Khan, welcomed Afghan fruit trucks moving to Pakistan in a post on the social-networking website Twitter.He urged authorities on both sides to focus their efforts on ensuring the smooth movement of people and trade vehicles.In another tweet, Ambassador Mansoor Ahmad Khan stated that Pakistan has waived NADRA visa processing fees for Afghan citizens until December 31.

He stated that this is in accordance with Prime Minister Imran Khan’s decision to make it easier for Afghan nationals to travel to Pakistan.It should be noted that the Taliban closed the crossing on October 5, effectively suspending Afghan transit and regular trade between the two countries.
