Secretary of CM Punjab Relocated for Failing NAB Assessment

19th August 2021

A report sourced from Lahore apprises Usman Buzdar’s, Chief Minister of Punjab, his prime secretary Tahir Khurshid was relocated on Tuesday deceptively in being defamed for having unnecessary means of assets. This case was held by NAB.

On July 8, the bureau had convoked Mr. Khurshid and instructed him to submit a report about the means of his anterior and existing property. Nevertheless, he capered the hearing but he later emerged before the investigators but then again did not submit the prerequisite account of his possessions.

The NAB granted him a questionnaire to provide intricate details of his Benami assets and related bank transactions within 10 days, but he failed to comply with it, hence he was exempted from being a rightful secretary to a government official. Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education Department Secretary Aamir Jan were transferred and posted as principal secretary to the chief minister as an instantaneous consequence.

Purportedly, Mr. Khurshid was allotted the position of principal secretary to the CM late last year on the appeal of Mr. Buzdar to Prime Minister Imran Khan. Mr. Khurshid had developed good relations with Buzdar during his posting as the commissioner of DG-khan.

The PML-N had aimed staid assertions against Mr. Buzdar and Mr. Khurshid of casting money through the award of contracts for improvement projects and postings and transfers of bureaucrats.

Meanwhile, Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department Secretary Sarah Aslam will hold additional charge of the post of Specialised Healthcare and Medical Education secretary occupant temporarily. Zafarwal AC, Irfan Marth was made OSD while Muhammad Arshad, pending relocation, was transferred to the post of Zafarwal AC, Shakargarh AC was also made OSD while Zainul Abbidein, withheld for posting, was posted as Shakargarh AC, and anticipating stationing of Anum Ali Khan was transferred as Pasrur AC.
