Special Assistant to CM of Punjab, Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan Resigns from her Post

On Friday, Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan resigned from her post as a Special Assistant to the Chief Minister of Punjab. She resigned before completing one year and mentioned that the resignation is due to some personal reasons.

She in her resignation letters acknowledged Prime Minister for appointing her for such a colossal task. She likewise also appreciated and thanked Chief Minister of Punjab Usman Buzdar for supporting her through her session and motivating her in every thick and thin which helped her in achieving the expert objectives set for her by her party.

She said she was proud to be part of such herculean work and that she was satisfied for investing in her amounts of energy with the most extreme commitment to imply the unmatched and verifiable accomplishments of the Punjab government

She likewise mentioned that she was pleased to serve the government of Punjab but due to some personal reason she had to resign and that’s why immediate actions were taken in this regard. An announcement delivered by the Chief Minister’s Office stated that CM Usman Buzdar has accepted her resignation as well.

She had previously registered her resignation last month which was later withdrawn on the instructions of the Prime Minister as she mentioned. It was also reflected by some other resources from CM’s house that Usman Buzdar wanted her to resign as he was not comfortable with her aid in highlighting the performance of the Punjab Government and bypassed him while announcing some news.

She was previously serving as Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Information and broadcasting and in November 2020 was selected as Special Assistant to Chief Minister of Punjab. Her name emerged in the number of controversial cases from the public domain to the media.
