The Afghan Taliban seize control of the strategic Wakhan District peacefully

Despite the withdrawal of US troops, the Taliban continues to take over Afghan districts. They have so far taken control of nearly 100 districts, or roughly one-third of the country.

In the most recent development, the Afghan Taliban took control of Afghanistan’s strategically important Wakhan district, which borders Pakistan, China, and Tajikistan, with only four men and without firing a single bullet. Locals can be seen welcoming the Afghan Taliban and chanting “Takbeer” slogans.
