The United States inflicts further sanctions on Myanmar

On July 2, 2021, the United States announced that the regime in Myanmar had been subject to further sanctions.A statement issued at the same date by Secretary of State Antony J Blinken indicated that 22 persons were designated under Executive Order 14014 by the U.S. Department of Asset Control.

The statement also noted that, because of its ‘revenue and/or other support for the Burmese military,’ the Commerce Department added Wanbao Mining Ltd, two of its subsidiaries and King Royal Technologies to its list of companies.

Blinken Secretary said, “today’s actions further demonstrate that the Military and its leaders continue to take further action and to impose cost until they reverse course and ensure a return to democracy.”
