UAE, Israel pledge to build on Abraham Accords

The Israeli Foreign Minister, Yair Lapid, who is in the UAE for his first official visit, received Sheik Abdullah am Zaid Al Nahyan, Foreign Minister and International Cooperation.Sheik Abdullah, in the presence of ministers and senior officials from the two sides, held an official reception ceremony for Yair Lapid upon his coming to Abu Dhabi’s headquarter.

In the light of the Abraham Peace Agreement signed between the two nations, he welcomed the Israeli Foreign Minister and his accompanying delegation and discussed ways of improving relations between Emirates and Israel.Both parties also looked at the situation in the Near East and the importance of building on the Abraham Agreements for peace and regional security and stability.It will open wider horizons, in all fields, to the development of relations between the two countries, in order to serve their common interests in the interests of their peoples, sheikh Abdullah underlined the importance of this visit.

He said that the UAE is hosting Expo 2020 Dubai in less than 100 days’ time, the main global event attended by over 195 countries and looks forward to a remarkable Israeli involvement in this global sustainable development platform.Sheikh Abdullah and Lapid signed an agreement for economic and commercial cooperation between the two countries.
